Chief Instructor-Sensei Roger Shannon

The Chief Instructor of Aikido of Albany, is Sensei Roger Shannon Yondan, 4th degree Black Belt, Aikikai. Sensei was the Assissant Chief Instructor of Aikido Ai of So. California for 10 years. He has been teaching adults and children for over 15 years. Shannon Sensei started training in 1988 with Sensei Frank McGouirk 6th Dan at Aikido Ai of Southern Calfornia. Sensei Shannon received Shodan in 1992, Nidan in 1995 , Sandan in 1998 and Yondan in 2005. Shannon Sensei has had other instructors, notable are Doran Sensei 7th Dan, Ikeda Sensei 7th Dan and the late Toyoda Sensei 6th Dan, to name a few.

Shannon Sensei still has strong ties with Sensei McGouirk and Aikido Ai of Southern California.
